Nonsense. What is wanted is an explanation that has fewer holes than an industrial cheese-grater.
The story told in the Bible makes no sense to mere mortals. Is your god so imperfect he cannot find the mode of communication that will touch us? Or is he so evil he's happy to doom some of his own "children" to damnation?
A god who cannot even author a perfect book can hardly be expected to author anything else perfect ... and by definition, that means he isn't perfect.
