That's the basic message of the bible. God created everything good, but man sinned and caused things to be bad, so we all live with the consequences of sin. Because God loved us, he decided to give us a second chance. Since we now had a sinful nature we were unable to fulfill that requirement for justice, so he sacrificed himself, in the form of his son to do that. Now we all have an eternity to look forward to on the new earth (call it heaven if you like) which will be a restoration of what he gave us in the first place, but it will be eternal. It's like "paradise lost, paradise restored."
Man caused: famine; volcanoes, earthquakes, disease, hunger, cancer, carnivorous animals. . . Really? Maybe if I eat an apple and spit it back out?
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
