Hello, I'm so glad to have found this little corner of the internet, before posting i thought I'd pop in a little intro.
I was baptized Lutheran, went to catholic school and services growing up but identified as an agnostic into adulthood. I married a man raised Catholic/Jewish who also identified as agnostic. My husband and I have had some recent discussions and kind of felt we were more comfortable with our beliefs being described as atheist.
I don't feel like our beliefs are something to be ashamed of but when I do talk about them I'm surprised at how passionately mean some people can be who automatically associate atheists with immoral. I recently had a coworker tell me that we're going to burn in hell. I guess what I'm looking for are easier ways to not be ashamed but also avoid controversy.
