Sure religion acknowledges it's errors, but only after great cultural or scientific pressure.

Thus the Catholic church has come around on the question of evolution and the Mormons have decided to admit blacks into their ranks and prohibit bigamy.

Notice that the changes are forced by science or secular morals.


There is the acknowledgement that a particular deceit or conceit is no longer self serving, that is different from the acknowledgement of error in deduction and interpretation of facts out of respect for facts.
