If you want to worry about big government, worry about corporations who lobby to make laws controlling more media. Liberals despite what you think do not like more control of data by big business. I do not like Facebook's data mining crap for example.
I also didn't like Universal Music trying to bully an ABBA fan run internet radio station into stopping. Eventually they backed off.
If you want to worry about bullies, worry about our growing plutocracy, not government.
Your saying I should just ignore this problem because there is a bigger problem somewhere else? Thats not a very good counter argument.
Also I subscribe to the view that the bigger the government, the more reason corporations and others have to lobby it. In my opinion limiting the growth and reach of government is ineffect limiting the growth and reach big corporations can have on my life.
Bullshit, if you truly cared about corporate bullying you would not side with them which I think you either don't care, or are too stupid to see that is exactly what you are doing.
We had 30 years of deregulation started by Reagan and ever since jobs unions and manufacturing went overseas, and worker pay has not kept up with cost of living. So you think corporations would do the right thing on their own despite the fact they don't do the right thing right now?
Um no, all less regulation would do without a mindset change on their part would be more gass on the fire.
The First Amendment is an anti monopoly law that addresses issues of religion, freedom of the press, and political parties, and protects the right to assemble and dissent. But somehow that same anti monopoly concept magically does not apply to the private sector. If the private sector wont do the right thing on its own, something has to step in to regulate it.
But do not try to blow smoke up my ass and try to convince me that our current climate is full of the likes of COSTCO and Moo Cluck Moo who do the right thing. No, our climate is a majority of Walmarts and Koch Brothers and Papa Johns.
