Sura 7:157 claims that Muhammad is mentioned in the Torah and Gospel: But with valid research it is clearly a false statement.

The question a Muslim must ask themself is "Why would God make a mistake like this?".

I had asked your question many years ago. My islamic teacher said:
"Bible is distorted. Jews have omitted the names of Muhammad from books."
