According to you they aren't different at all. You just said that locking someone up until they die is a death penalty. It isn't, but I'll overlook the fatuousness of your remark and simply ask you to reconcile your two positions.

Sorry, but didn't you just say that torture and the death penalty are different? How can you advocate for a death penalty and in (very nearly) the same breath decry something you've just said is a death penalty. This is rather like being pro-water but anti- H2O.

I'm not sure how incarcerating someone until they die qualifies as a death penalty - they're going to die anyway (everyone does).
