Scientists seek out ways to detect any phenomena for which they have a hypothesis, so that others may test the hypothesis and learn more. Then they might make additional observations and discoveries, and possibly establish some facts from which they can build a theory.
On the other hand, if what you are saying is that he is undetectable except for your imagination well... we knew that.
