I've been in love, and my last boyfriend and I felt like it was something out of a movie. But, when faced with a conflict...we broke up. I'm a bit wary of true love, for it requires a lot of trust ... and when you've been hurt a few times, it's hard to give your heart away to the next person, who may be doing everything right.
Love is the victory of optimism over realism.
And it takes work to make it work. No such thing as magic, right?
My gal whom I referred to in my recent breakup thread, her and I are working at it now, and we will hopefully make it last, because of that determination to go back again to try and work through the issue, to find common ground, to recognize that we each have to compromise.
