Yes, I hate bigots who use holy books to justify being assholes. I don't think that is an "over reaction". I think it is quite sane and reasonable to react to someone who has no good reason to be a dick.
When one offends with logic, it is merely cold water on someone's face. When one offend because they are merely ignorant because they needlessly fear others, that is not using good logic. That is merely being a self centered insecure jerk.
"How dare you not tolerate others intolerance". That is what they sound when they are the bullies and falsely play victim when called out on it.
