What's your favorite swear word/insult?

"Vaffanculo" basically mean "go fuck [someone] in the ass", and if you are insulting people with it you have to complete it with the person who is going to get fucked... Usually it's close relatives of the victim, even the dead ones. I mean, ESPECIALLY the dead ones. There are a great many dialectal variations, of course, so as an example:
in Rome: vaffanculo a li mejo mortacci tua
in Naples: vaffanculo a ci t'è mmuort'
in Bari (where I'm from, on the heel of the boot): vafangul a kitemmurt'!

All mean "go fuck your dead relatives in the ass"

Nice to know. I only encountered Vaffanculo in it's purest form without the additional stuff. I got the "Va" and the "culo" part, since I knew it means go and ass, but the middle part escaped me.
