I would tell that person "Damnit! I didn't mean kill that one, I meant that one!", pointing to someone I extremely dislike.

This is what a person who believes in an underlying reality of there religion would do. If they do not behave in such a way, then they do not possess a true belief in their religion.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.
