I've been noticing that German seems to be closer to Spanish than English when it comes to the make up of sentences. Not the actual words but how the sentences are formed.
No, "Schlampe" is basically slut or whore. But it has a different root, since "schlampig" originally meant sloppy. And by originally I mean some decades ago, within my living memory.
As for your second claim, it may have some similarities. But you could say the same for french. For example, there's only one "the" in english. It's used for female, male and neutral. In German there are three: "Der" for male, "Die" for female" and "Das" for neutral, if you're talking about an object.
