There's only one rep per user and fellow user?

To be honest I quite like the idea of having multiple reps. Maybe for every 2000 posts you make or some other arbitrary requirement you could be entitled to give out more reps, or receive more reps...

Reps are a precious commodity this way. That would quite literally cheapen the experience of receiving one...

Those reps gave me something that I really needed at a really bad time when I didn't have all that much. So... even if you're right, and it's time for things to change: I wouldn't want it to. I still faintly remember the feeling of receiving one of our reputation points... and there's a chance, however small... that someone else will do the same in the future.

I wish there was a way to review who I've repped. Been here so long I can't remember and I'm sure I have missed some worthy candidates.

I would second this, however. It would sure beat aimless guesswork.
