Regardless of your personal opinion, adults have a right to choose to hear what religious people have to say, and the same applies to kids, if they choose, don't they?
As for kids extreme caution is needed. Since, as most believers have been telling me for decades now, religion is such an all important issue it shouldn't be dealed with lightly. After all this will be a choice between eternal - mind you - damnation in a firy place and eternal life in heaven. So we don't want any indoctrination of some false religion and it is very important to choose the right religion from the happy abundance of denomminations, sects, and what have you.
We could of course use a multiple choice form in Kindergarten, but don't look at me when your kids get sent away to Tibet to enjoy the fruits of a free religious upbringing.
A better idea might be to wait till the age of about eighteen. An age that quite commonly is seen as an age at which the child can take on some adult responsibilities like fighting in wars and voting.
