People can make all sorts of symbols for anything they want, but it only has significance to the people that buy into it.
And no, atheists are not on a "team". There are plenty of atheists that I want nothing to do with, and I certainly wouldn't want to be seen as on the same "team" as them. We just happen to agree on a singular question.
