Once, the opposite happened to me: when I was in fourth grade, I had to give a short speech on the occasion of our "graduation" from elementary school, and when I had arrived at the location I realized that I had forgotten all my notes. I was devastated because I had put much effort in writing it. Suddenly I realized that I had indeed put so much effort in it that I had completely memorized it in the process without noticing, and was able to give it after all. Those were the days.
