How does it make sense that the weather system came into being after sin was brought into the world? In what way does sin affect the weather? Is there some mechanism by which murder causes a chain reaction leading to an unusually strong hurricane? The Earth is older than humans, and we have a pretty good idea what the climate trends have been going back millions of years. We know that there have been ice ages, hot periods, and catastrophic global disasters that have wiped out billions of species. Saying that natural disasters are the product of sin is like saying that the dinosaurs were wiped out because they didn't treat each other kindly enough.
If God wanted to create conditions that would facilitate kindness to each other, he could start off by giving us a climate system that does not indiscriminately kill hundreds of thousands of innocent victims each year. These disasters contribute to poverty, which in turn further drives inequality between different peoples. It is a system by which a family can lose everything they own through no fault of their own, due to a system that could have been designed differently to prevent their unnecessary suffering. God could have done better. The weather is not a function of sin. It is the product of physics, and we have pretty good models for what drives local and global climates. Sin does not factor into these calculations in any form.
