What other conclusion can you draw? There is no defense lawyer present at a grand jury only the prosecutor. So explain how only hearing one side of the case is NOT flawed, especially when it comes down to the prosecutor bringing a case against one of it's own.

This was explained in a different thread. An indictment case just decides whether something goes to trial or not. It doesn't mean the person is guilty or innocent, so there's no reason for a defense just yet.

Now having someone prosecute a person they work closely against it wrong. It would be better to take the officer(s) to a different place where the prosecutor doesn't know them, and won't suffer for putting the cop behind bars. Prosecutors rely on the police force, but some prosecutor in Montgomery, Alabama wouldn't know or care about a cop from Birmingham. Or from farther away like Atlanta, Georgia.
