I won't deny the misogyny of my fellow atheists here, is probably remnants of misogyny of our national culture, but I really hope when we turned that things would be different."When [you] turned?" What, did an atheist bite you on the neck?
People are who they are. Their beliefs are a big part of that, but in your subconscious your religious beliefs share space with the other countless beliefs that shape and influence your actions and attitudes. Changing your religious belief does not automatically change the others. Becoming an atheist only fixes one of the things you are wrong about.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
