You just have to fall back on "Yahweh is good because he just is, so you just have to give him the benefit of the doubt, no matter what he does.
It may have been Drich or Frodo that said god is good by definition, but then it begs the question of why we think Yahweh is god? His acts, at face value, were horrible, and there is little to no justification for any of it. Instead of claiming his acts were good because he's god, and god is good by definition, why don't we question the idea that he's a god because his actions don't mesh with goodness.
