My lady friend is Korean, and she turned me on to Korean cuisine. I love it! In fact, lately I get these random midnight cravings for kimchi and will go through half a jar in a sitting.
I doubt that makes me pleasant to be around the next day. My co-workers have learned not to cross me after a night of such indulgence lest I crop dust the lot of them.

But it tasted Awesome (it what they make miso soup from) a table spoon of doejang dissolved in a 1/2 quart of hot water, and boom best miso ever!
Our house growing up always smelled like hot death (rotting meat) and our neighbors hated us, but when it was time to sell, we would have all the Koreans in town over looking to buy. (This was before we got an Asian supermarket in town)
Even today in Korea all these foods are firmented well outside of town. Smell bad, taste good!
Just stay away from the gaegogi.
