If you did, you would know that Hitler wasn't a devout catholic. Show me a statement from the bible or the catholic catechism that would allow a catholic to murder countless Jewish people - or any kind of people. But there are the examples of men like Moses and David, who massacred entire armies and even entire cities, occasionally sparing the livestock and virgin girls for, uh, "peaceful" purposes. And there's always the example of Yahweh, who once answered "genocide" when asked what his favorite hobby was. Why do Christians pretend that those examples don't exist?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
