It doesn't matter what mohammed did versus what jesus did or who said what, the message for most people of faith is largely IRRELEVANT.
My point is that most people go along mostly ignoring the bulk of their religion and carry on doing what everyone else does.
It is the people who read the bible or Koran and act on I what it actually says that are the problem.
Most believers don't really do what the bible or Koran really say but have a faith that they temper with modern sensibilities.
