I agree completely. Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to understand the basic definition of feminism (gender equality) and instead write off the entire movement.
My first objection to feminism is the title. I guess it's similar to black power.
The root ideology of black power is racial equality but then there's offshoots of ideologies involving racist black supremacy.
My basic point would be that if you want your group to be taken seriously as a advocating equal rights don't just name it after a group observed to be mostly victimized by the inequality.
It seems to be sending out the message of, equality for everyone but we're just going to focus on our group first because we need it the most.
Which probably isn't the message a lot of feminists or black power supporters want to be projected, I'm sure a lot of feminists support the rights of men and black power supports are against racism against white people by black people, I hope.
Beyond that though I don't have much of an opinion on feminism.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
