Would it be fair to say that your description of god is - at least in part- along the lines of a warlord..and this life as the ravaged countryside in which he plies his trade (and of course, in which he peddles his wares)?
.....do it...you know you want to, make me happy
I have no idea what your talking about.
I see God here as one giving land and title over to his sons, and his sons leveraging everything out to loan sharks. While the Father can indeed come in pay everything off and give the sons an easy life, the father knows making them deal with the consenquences will be better for them in the long run.

Oh, wait could it be that he handed the keys to this world over to man telling us we are responsible for it, and we promptly handed the keys and ourselves over to satan?
Actions have consequences God simply holds us to the consequences of our actions.
Is that the keys it handed off to Adam and Eve or was there a second set of keys handed out after god drowns everyone except for a drunk and his immediate family?
Wonder how things would have turned out if god just eliminated satan like it did to all the women and babies it killed during the flood.
Satan plays a simple role, he is not a God. If satan were destroyed someone/thing else would fill the role.
