I detest 'white pride' with a passion. First of all, most people who are white can trace their ancestry back to a specific European nation. For example, I know that a lot of my ancestors were from Ireland and a few branches were from other parts of the UK. It would be acceptable for me to celebrate my Irish heritage.
My best friend has ancestors from Eastern Europe. She looks pretty white to me. It would be acceptable for her to celebrate her ancestry also
What doesn't make sense is for either of us to act like there is some generic white culture that our forefathers shared.
The reason that we have generic 'black' pride is because of the racism that African Americans have suffered in this country. It is also impossible for most black people to discover exactly where there ancestors originated
