If you decide to join the military, then bully for you. At the same time you signed on to go where ever the civilian leadership tells you to go. In this country sport, it is the 'dunderheads' who put those civilian leaders in office. That means if the majority of the Dunderheads thinks as I do your ass will go where ever and do whatever your told, or we will not need your services anymore. Why? Because it the FRIGGEN job you signed up for! Do your job, like every one else!
Do you think you choices in life afford you anymore say than anyone else? If you do I've got some harsh news for you. You don't. Your efforts in the military gives you as much say as my own outside the military in the directions and policies of this country. ( you get one vote just like I get one vote) If you don't like where or what the military is doing then when it is time, quit. No one is making you stay. I'm sure the military will make it without you.

I showed/ shared your post with my uncle (Air Force combat vet from Vietnam) who has had 2 f-4's shot out from under him as he was laying down radar cover for b-52's in an unarmed jet, He said you had a quite impressive chest full of 'ribbons.'
You have a south west Asia and short tour (reservist) ribbon. Small arms proficiency, and a general training ribbon, and a general unit citation. Couple that with your firefighters badge, he said you were probably one of the guys who pumped or processed jet fuel somewhere between where the navy drops it off to the planes being fueled on the ground. The reason he said that was "everyone with a pulse who passed basic got those same ribbons in that unit during that particular deployment"
He also wanted me to tell you: 'he appreciates you putting your life on the line pumping gas and acting like an offended POW who has had two planes shot out from underneath him in actual combat, Just so you can Look like a hero on some stupid web site. You make your country, and all the real soldiers who's backs your standing on to make your point, real proud!'
I was t baiting anyone. I was looking to see if free speech went past making fun of religion.
Again in France after the Hebdo murders, France jailed muslim citizens for simply saying they supported the act. Being jailed for verbally supporting a terrorist act is not the same as committing it. These people were jailed for simply saying they supported the Charlie Hebdo murders.

Guess what, that is not a hamper on your freedom of speech. Not even a little. Freedom of speech doesn't mean we all just say what we want to an no one says anything back. Freedom of speech just means that people don't harm you, threaten to harm you, or detain you based on the things you say, so long as those things don't put others in immediate danger (yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater, or "Bomb" on a plane.)
