United States data, from Census.gov's 2012 Statistical Abstract
To summarize, if I'm reading this correctly, in the 2010 Census about 34.2 million adults identified as "Atheist", "Agnostic", "No Religion", or "Humanist. Out of a total of about 228.2 million adults in the US, that works out to 15.0%.
It's worth noting that only .7% explicitly chose "Atheist" (and only another .9% chose "Agnostic"); the vast majority of, we'll call them, non-religious respondents chose "No Religion" (13.3%).
Do note that this aggregated number (15%) is up from 14.2% in 2000 and 8.2% in 1990.
Also, another 5% or so refused to answer the question.
