Was this any good? I have been uncertain if I want to subject myself to a woman trekking through the wilderness, complaining all the while.
My parents, who are environmental hobbyists, warned me of the same thing, and I almost took their advice. I'm not big on nature in and of itself. However, hiking is an adventure, and while I'm not an avid hiker (disabled, anyhow), I respect the challenge of it. It brought back many memories of my last big hike, on the North Carolina/Georgia line, and I almost stepped on a snake. I hate snakes. There was a scary snake scene in this movie. Nothing over the top, but it was very real.
But now I need to read the book (there is a book, right?), because I think I did miss some of the actual point of the movie. No regrets in seeing it, though.
