Or just really embarrassed about his appearance even in a cartoon?Violent extremists need something to be extremely violent about. Much like the guy on the subway who balls his fists and keeps snarling "what're YOU lookin' at" towards everyone around him, they will push and push until they feel they are sufficiently provoked to act, at which point they blame the victim.
Understanding this, people would realize that giving in doesn't appease them, it only makes them push harder. Because they don't want appeasement; they want a fight. What good is it to have a stockpile of bombs and willing "martyrs" if someone won't give you an excuse to use them?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
