Reading the old testament makes it obvious that he's violent and self centered. In Exodus, the mountain that god is on is described in a way that makes it obvious it's a volcano. If you google Canaanite pantheon, you'll notice Yahweh at the bottom.

No, reading the OT shows God's justice and there are consequences to disobeying Him. Really simple to understand. God was with Adam and Eve, Abraham, Isaac, and a host of others before He appeared on the mountain. He walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden before there were Canaanites. The Canaanites were part of the peoples at the Tower of Babel, they were a part of the language barrier God cast upon them, so yes they knew He was. Just because they, as you do, place God outside of their importance doesn't change God and who He is.

Abandoned them, really. He came to them, asking why thy were hiding, even though He knew, like a father He wanted to give them a chance to come clean. God wouldn't have told them about death without an explanation, you do remember He walked with them in the cool of the evening and they indicate they understand what death meant, they never questioned it. Does he interact with them again after he kicks them out? He interacts with their kids. It didn't say anything about him explaining what death was. Did he kill something in front of them?

There was no death before the fall, you're being dishonest about the meaning of scripture. It stands to reason He did simply because of the interaction with their sons, besides the important thing is we continue the interaction with Him.

I'm not parroting anything. I'm telling you what I understand of what I read. It seems like the authors of Genesis already understood what death meant, and came from a culture where clothing was the norm.

Moses wrote the first five books of the OT, so of coarse they knew about death and clothing. That has nothing to do with what took place in the Garden. If you're not parroting then you show your understanding of the Bible is extremely low.

So there's no explicit explanation of what death meant, and for some reason Adam and Eve believe being naked is bad, despite nothing else wearing clothes, and Yahweh leaving them naked.

No isn't not told God explained death to them, yet they both speak as they understand what death means, they give no indication they do not. They understood nothing of lust until they came into the knowledge of good and evil.

Then he wipes out the world because fallen angels were raping women and breeding evil Humans.

That's not what the scriptures say, they do say He judged mankind guilty of total corruption and there was no hope for their redemption.

Well that's the explanation I was told. I guess that would be parroting. In that case, I'd need a different explanation for why the whole of humanity was deemed totally corrupt, yet he allowed one guy on the arc that it's implied raped his dad when he was drunk. It's kind of like the story of Lot, where the one guy they try to save is a guy that offers his girls to be raped instead of a couple of strangers.

The whole of mankind except for Noah and his family was judged guilty of total sinful desires, their hearts were set on doing nothing good only sinning. Mankind had fallen to a low humanity has not ever seen since, there's a day coming when it will be so again. Noah and his family were the only ones left that were not totally corrupted, the world wasn't redeemable. the influence the parents would have on their children would lead them into the same corruption, why, because they would not have had any other example.




You really believe an all powerful God worried about men building a tower that would reach a place outside this world, being creator I'm sure He knew they couldn't manage to breath in space. God saw that working together they could accomplish much in a shorter amount of time, the languages divided them, isolating them long enough to cause them to not trust each other, worked too. Man couldn't over come the sin of self pride to work together, that's exactly why God separated man by language.




Yes as I explained, only after Pharaoh and Egypt refused a number of times, God knew they wouldn't cooperate with Moses, they were guilty of disobedience and punished. God gave them a chance to comply with His asking, they saw His powers and refused. They put do not feed and or get to close to the bears in national parks, if one doesn't obey there are consequences to pay, either by the bears or authorities.




"For I'm the LORD your God and you will not have any other gods besides Me." Any other questions? As I said before these people came from the area of the Tower of Babel, they knew the God of creation, then they decided thy wanted gods of wood and stone, why I have no idea. These people said many times that God was with Israel, He leads them into battle. They knew who He was.


I would imagine there were many cultures during that time that used the snake as a symbol. But, has any carried over till today, especially as a symbol of good.




Petty, really. God was trying to redeem these people, He took them from a life of slavery, which by the way I've never heard anyone complain about. How is it you can call God's justice murder, these people knew who He was and yet they denied Him and decided to fight against Him. God's presences has been with billions of people since Christ came and that mass murder you're so fond of judging God with is punishment for sin.




God is the creator of all men and man falls under God's judgement as created beings who are in disobedience. Justice and punishment go hand in hand.




If you refuse to read and study to find the truth, then stop complaining about something you have no true understanding of. Funny how billions find it a good read even some atheist I know.

There's noway that the fossil record can be anything other than speculation at best, there's no proof, no evidence, nothing. Many false statements over the years and some outright lies.
