You are missing the curse of the law. Jesus did not really die on the cross for saving us from the original sin. He took the punishment from the law that was made when God made a covenant with his people in Deuteronomy 27:26. It consists of 613 commandments that cannot be broken, and which, due to their nature, cannot be followed to perfection.
