Perhaps God will make them forget the agony of death, as our early memories are so often forgotten. Perhaps they will be rewarded to counter-balance their suffering. Who knows? Only God.

And how about the end result? If we are all to inherit eternal life, then any suffering we endure in these lives is less than temporary. As terrible as the suffering of children may be, it is not in vain; people will know by these things the wrath of God, and understand how little tolerance He has for evil. It is a lesson everyone must learn.
