If you persist in stating that he is a good god, then you are merely reading the bible with rose colored glasses. There is absolutely nothing good about the psycho that calls himself a god.
Not that it is the same kind of "paying," but He paid the price on the cross. He has joined in our sufferings, and even continues to do so now, because God is pure empathy.
If you knew that, in the end, everyone inherits eternal life in paradise, could you call that anything BUT good? That is my argument. You don't have to accept it, but for the sake of the argument you can at least abide by those premises.
