We live in a world which is rapidly changing and markedly different from the one in which tribes and nation states developed.
The widespread availability of information and global communication is making it harder and harder to convince local communities that the people in the next village are other, evil and worthy of extermination.
Not long, a couple hundred years ago, it made sense to kill all the farmers in the village next door and farm their fields. Expansion of industry and specialization of production make it preferable to trade for stuff from the next town rather than destroy their factory and have to build your own to get the same stuff. Remember, the industrial revolution only started 250 years ago, the information age only 60. Tribalism goes back at least a thousand times as far. Human behavior needs time to catch up.
There are still plenty of dangers to worry about, from ecological collapse to nuclear armageddon wrought by bronze age thinkers who don't yet see that the world has changed.
But at 23, you are just on the verge of taking over to make this the world you want.
Good luck to you.
Hello,
Tribalism is probably one of the worst ideologies that still exists today, it is just sad to see some producers & manufacturers still drenched in tribalism, which usually produces the loser mixture that you might see in the Middle East : it makes people stuck outside the industrial age, trying with infinite trials to produce but fail, wasting billions in the process too, thus forcing people to enter the information age without being ready, missing a huge chunk of development in culture that is impossible to catch up without a miracle of some sort.
Thank you for your comment ^_^
