You assume people are so innocent. I say if billionaires allow children to starve around the world, then their own children deserve to starve. That is justice; that is righteous judgment. It's terrible, yes...and you should be afraid.
No, I assume that no matter what a person is guilty of, certain punishments are inherently beyond what is just.
Seriously, I think some serious self-reflection is in order when your defense is, "how do you know they didn't deserve to get raped."
