Seriously; their entire schtick was a marketing scheme. I enjoy them a little sometimes, but I can't take them at all seriously.
OT: My sister and I flew to Cozumel a couple of years ago, and our layover from SD was at LAX. We were in the commuter terminal for about an hour watching the gelmet (Gene Simmons) signing autographs and posing for pictures with various people. He looks completely unreal and alien IRL. Incidentally, I literally ran into Gary Busey that same trip. He's even more crazed-looking IRL.
More OT: I see so many people in my travels, come to think of it. After the 2012 election, my sister and I were flying to upstate NY to visit our mom, and our layover was in DC. We were standing in first class, boarding, when I looked down, and there was Mitt Romney with one of his creepy sons. Apparently, he was flying from SD (he lives in La Jolla) to DC for his post-election breakfast with Obama.
