God is the English name given to the singular omnipotent being in theistic and deistic religions (and other belief systems) who is either the sole deity in monotheism, or a single deity in polytheism."

But god isn't singular is he.

Even discounting the angels, who as far as we are concerned are godlike anyway.

You still have satan who is obviously equal to god in capability since god is unable to defeat him.

And plenty of people worship satan.

If there was just god and no others yes it would be a monotheistic religion. But it isn't.
