How do you think Christian parents feel when the things we teach and try to assign value to ethecially is crapped on by soceity, the goverment and by the culture?

Your victim complex notwithstanding, I can't imagine how you can look at the society and culture you have, and come to that conclusion. The majority of the country is your religion, socially your religion gets away with things that would be horrendous breaches of politeness if performed while not under the protection of christianity, and your government routinely privileges your religion over anyone elses via monuments, laws, bills passed that name god the owner of towns... it smacks of oversensitivity and privilege that you get all this stuff served up to you on a platter and you still whine about being "crapped on" by everyone else, when most of them agree with you.

You need to go and check out some other countries dude, I think the culture shock may be good for you. I've had that exact experience in reverse, going from a country with less religion, into your country, and I can easily see the difference between America and a country that is just indifferent to religion, not even hostile to it. Regardless of your panic mongering, the comparison comes out in favor of religion here; there's so many more churches, so many more religious broadcasters and programs and people... Drich, you have no idea, the people in your country. Back home I literally never once heard anyone seriously reference god within the context of their actual beliefs, but in America I get told so much about god. I saw my first live prayer, over here. And these are the people "crapping" on your beliefs?

How is what Brakeman is experiencing any different than the assult on our core beliefs in every other aspect of life? How is the senerio of your kid challenging you any different that the atmosphere western soceity has created to have our children challenge us?

I have no idea how you could form that opinion based on observations; the reality we live in simply does not support this claim of yours.

Ex: We tell our kids Homosexuality is wrong, and in every avenue of media, school, friends, and every other non-Christian source is telling them not only is it ok it's what 'trending.'

Have you considered offering some verifiable, objectively real reason why homosexuality is wrong? That'd solve the problem, but the bigger issue is that you can't do that, and now you're sitting here whining that your unjustified opinions should be treated as fact, and that because people dare to not go along with them and disagree, that this is an assault on you.

But you don't have a right to your own facts, Drich, and when the facts turn against what you believe then people with any care over what's true will begin saying the latter, rather than just following your beliefs because you think they should be privileged over anything else.

That if the want to get the girl, their going to have to go through a bunch of boys..

So, let me get this straight: you object to people attempting to get your children to believe something other than what you want to teach them, that's been the thrust of this post... and yet you have no problem at all with christians doing exactly the same thing to other people's kids? Do you just not see a problem because it's something you agree with, or do you think two wrongs make a right?

And you keep saying easter egg hunt, which leads me to ask, did you even read the OP?

One of the first poker games you watch is of Maveric promising to loose every hand he plays for an hour... after that time is up He took all their money, and asks "What is it do you think I was doing that first hour?" "I was learning your tells."

I have been doing the same thing for the past 8 years. Now what do you think I've been doing with that information? Bragging about my victorys? Uh, no. I take everything said break it down research it and build counter arguements, then I bring them here and see what you all can do with them. If they make it though the gauntlet the arguements get passed along, if they don't i try again.

If you think you could hold your own with any of the kids I have taught, then bring it. Ill see if anyone wants to 'play.'

I really hate to have to say this, but I'll decline your invitation, since I clearly respect your children and the primacy of their growing minds more than you do.

My point, since apparently it hasn't been made clear yet, is that nobody should be attempting to sway or indoctrinate people into a set of beliefs before they are of an age where they are mature enough to consider the propositions themselves, and that the kind of pressure that christianity puts on children before they are mentally developed enough to defend themselves from nonsense is predatory, and a violation of their right to self determine. The fact that you actually think that "Hey, I don't care, I've indoctrinated my kids so thoroughly that they'll be utterly impervious to new ideas that I don't agree with!" is an appropriate response illustrates my point perfectly.
