So you've seen other people misspell the word too, and in your desperation to always be right no matter what, you decided that despite what dictionaries, spellcheckers and real people say, that there's two ways to spell the word, and you're just in possession of this super secret alternate way... rather than just admit that you aren't the only one who spells the goddamn word wrong. Dodgy

Quote:To measure 'intellegence' is to identify one's level of comformity to what the 'heard/pop culture' determins to be Sm-arrt.

Why would one seek the markers of 'intellegence' to the exclusion of everything else?

So to you there's no such thing as knowledge or objective facts? You just waft through a world of personal opinions and subjective reality? Why not try jumping out a high window, then? After all, there's no reason to think that such a course of action is stupid, since intelligence is just a matter of opinion and all. Rolleyes

I want trying to be right I just thought it to be a funny line from Michael scot/the office.

Yeah, and I've seen "which" spelled "witch". I still make a conscious decision to not spell it creatively. I guess, you could call it a choice. You're very fond of choices, aren't you?

Anyway, going back to one of your earlier posts. I find it quite remarkable that the age of consent suddenly drops to 6 when it comes to religion. Or christianity, I should say, since I gather you would be the first to whine and squirm if someone were to hand out free Qurans.

1) indeed I am.

2) I think a 6 year old has the wherewithal to decide for her self if she wants to go on a Easter egg hunt or not.

Granted if she wanted a face tattoo I'd probably say no unless it was just boss, , but an eater egg hunt?!? Yeah my kid @ 6 had that ability. Maybe brakeman raises 6 year olds to be 'different needs enabled.' But for me and mine.. @ 6 they could choose whether or not to hunt Easter eggs.

If you do know I can go well beyond the typical atheist propaganda, and if you want to play this game you will need to do some research.

If you want to start, lets start here:

There is a 1 min tourist testimonial in the middle but their is alot more verfiable facts on the other side.

So most of the founding fathers were christian *gasp* that's something I never knew Rolleyes
What you don't seem to realize is that while they were christian, they still had the decency to allow other people their own religious freedoms. Sure they made a bible for the schools and did a bunch of other religious stuff you would expect, nobody's perfect. But they realized others as having their own opinions and beliefs and sought to give them that freedom. Hence the first amendment in hopes it would do that, and we're only now starting to bring it to full fruition.

Uhhhhhh... That's funny. Maybe ask the native Americans who were slaughtered or converted about 'respect for other religions.'

Here's a novel Idea. let her go and let her make up her own mind about easter, Jesus and the whole bit.

She's six, Drich. Six. A kindergartner. Being prosyletized at kindergarten in a government school that is legally obliged to be neutral on religion when her parents aren't present.

It's not only wrong, it's creepy behavior on the part of any adults involved. People's children should be safe from predatory recruitment practices in kindergarten. It would be just as wrong if the perps were Muslims, Hindus, or atheists.

In what way is Brakeman being hypocritical? Are you claiming that he tries to indoctrinate other people's children to atheism in kindergarten without their parents knowing?

You've never taken a six year old Easter egg hunting have you? Well I have, a whole bus load after telling about what Easter was really about what do you think thier concern was for? Jesus or whether or not the Easter bunny had hidden the eggs yet.. And at the end of the hunt what was the big debate about? Christ's third day resurection (whether it was Sunday or some other day?) uh, no. It was about why billy found all the chocolate eggs (because his dad helped him, and what Nancy only found the yucky ones...

You guys are idiots if you think anything more than an egg and chocolate hunt goes on in 98% of even church sponsered Easter egg hunts.

(March 26, 2015 at 10:47 am)Judi Lynn Wrote: Drich, you may want to brush up on your history a bit here and start reading a work from Thomas Paine entitled The Age Of Reason, printed in 1889 in the USA. It contains the following from him on his opinion on religion:
Quote: "I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy.

But, lest it should be supposed that I believe in many other things in addition to these, I shall, in the progress of this work, declare the things I do not believe, and my reasons for not believing them.

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."

Cool stuff eh? Italicized and underlined by me to show importance.

Know this too. Thomas Paine is credited, in large part, for being responsible for the formation of the United States. He is long known for his fight against tyranny, fighting in both the American Revolution as well as the French Revolution.

Due to the 30/30 rule, until I have permission from staff here to post the link I found my information from, if anyone is interested, pm me and I will send you the link.

You didn't watch the video did you? Judy, Judy, judy.. What are you afraid of? I mean besides documented history? Oh, that's right you made the claim that the nation wasn't founded on Christian principles, and I showed you a 10 min video that showed proof it was..

Yeah, I would be fishing for red herring if I were as wrong as you too.

The only person I have ever seen spell it 'per' is you, Drich. You shouldn't assume that the people we hang out with are as poor at spelling as the people with whom you hang out apparently are.

I said Michael scott from the office I. An above post, but it was shawn spencer in psych.
