What do I mean by this question? Well, as I'm sure we are all aware, some religionists like go into public places to tell people about what they believe. At present, in my town's shopping district the Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones with a stool. However, there is a Mormon Church and a Mosque in my town too.
The Jehovah's Witnesses are no trouble at all, strangely, as they sit in their chairs quietly (and I think they've finally realised that knocking on doors doesn't do them any favours). However, my hunch - and fear - is that it's only a matter of time until we get some rabble-rousers. I've seen videos of such people in other towns. Sure, such people usually (always) do a disservice to their religion but inevitably there will be some people who will convert. This is either because:
a) The religionist takes advantage of a person's lack of knowledge of a particular religious book (in particular the Quran).
b) The person is already looking for a new religion.
c) The person is vulnerable, and therefore easy to convince (e.g. somebody with a learning disability).
d) Are upset with Western society, or something about it, for whatever reason.
Given that: Is it worth approaching, and hopefully exposing as liars, proselytizers in public spaces if it means even just one person ends up not converting?
