I'm sure there were plenty of times when you had to provide care to someone who stank....and it was quite difficult to endure. In those times, how much of your brain was focused on dealing with the stink instead of working out how to best provide care? In your situation, as an emergency medic, it is unavoidable.....and you probably had to do it as a condition of your employment.
This situation is quite different. Its not an emergency. It is not a condition of her employment(she may be a partner). There is another doctor right there who is happy to take on the patient so the market is serving this person. So why not let the doctor who wants to see the child....see the child. Why not let the doctor who does not want to see the child refrain?
