Here are a few books on Ancient Israel authored by Eric Cline.

2009 Cline, E.H. [i]Biblical Archaeology: A Very Short Introduction. [/i]New York: Oxford University Press.
2007 Cline, E.H. [i]From Eden to Exile: Unraveling Mysteries of the Bible. [/i]Washington, DC: National Geographic Books. (not familiar with this book...you would probably like it the most because he likes to provide alternative explanations for the pre-kingdom history)
