In nature, in evolution, both cooperation and force work. Our evolutionary empathy is what we call "good" and is why we seek cooperation and when we are empathetic avoid harm to others. Evolution also unfortunately produces cruelty and force, and that is the "evil" humans try to avoid.
Your holy book merely takes our natural behaviors both good and bad and turns it into a comic book.
