Of course I think it's acceptable.
I wouldn't expect a black man to design a white supremacist parade float. At the same point it is unacceptable for that same black man to deny service to a man solely on the grounds that he happens to be white. In the same sense, it's not likely that I'm going to design a gay pride parade float or walk in a gay pride march (not that I wouldn't), but you can be damn sure that when asked whether or not I would perform at an event that had a lot of openly gay people there, I'd be more than happy to provide them with excellent service.
Bigotry is bigotry and coloring it with a religious crayon doesn't make it any less grotesque. Neither does hiding behind some phony sense of "personal values."
