Just imagine if more people had voted third-party, instead of bending over fatalistically, before arguing that the status quo is preferable.
I'm not sure Al Gore could have withstood the corporatist pressure to ignite the useless conflict in Iraq, anyway. He never did strike me as having strength of character, not that I know him personally.

You're going to get 2.9 million people to vote for a 3d party? It's a pipe dream. You want to make a difference? Do what the jesus-loving asswipes did to the republicunt party. Take over the Democratic party and force it to a progressive position. Go all out. Because what you are going to find is that, just as now, it is the independents who decide the winners while the parties decide who are the candidates.
