The people that hate that book are missing out on 90% of the plot of the story. It's dry on action, but so much of the intrigue and secondary plots are set up in Feast.
If you're a fan of ASOIAF, A Feast for Crows is one of the best books in the series. It's my second favorite, behind A Storm of Swords.
But, because of the sheer amount of plot and secondary characters, they have to scrap or shorten most of the storylines and combine or remove characters to make it work.
