Did God just admit to his followers that he's a psychopath?

If God is all knowing, then he wouldn't need to test his followers, because he'd already know the outcome. He'd know if they'd betray him from the start. He might as well use his psychic powers to see into the future, and kill those who will end up betraying him before they are old enough to make their choice... Oh, wait, that's one of the many reasons why I hate the character in the first place. The more humane thing to do is not allow them to be conceived, and why prepare them, when he's all powerful, he can do whatever he wants with the flick of the wrist, and make them already prepared without having to subject them to torture? Can you see why religion makes no sense?
I guess I make that argument because it's true. Some christians believe that God doesn't know what choices we will make. The logic is that God knows everything, but what we will do in the future is not something that exists yet. I'm more of the mind that God sees events outside of time and already knows the beginning and the end. But the fact that he knows what choices we will make doesn't alleviate the fact that we are the ones who make them. As far as your reasoning goes, why even bother creating a physical universe in the first place? If he wants people to be with him, he can just create a bunch of us already with him and skip the whole earth thing. I guess that this is the way he wanted to do it. If we're discussing the God of the bible, then we are to assume that he is smarter than we are and knows what is the best way to do things.
