Hello everyone!

My Name is John.  So information about me:

1.  I am Catholic
2.  I work as a Senior Financial Operations Engineer
3.  I have multiple degrees in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), mathematics (Instructional and Statistical), and law (Contracts, Criminal, Tort, Tax, Patent, and Constitutional).
4.  I have studied philosophy, theology, sociology, psychology, and biology (I do not have degrees in them).
5.  My hobbies are reading (of which I do about 60 hours a week), writing, and exercise.
6.  I am not married and have no children (I intend for that to change, going to need to cut back on the reading).

It is nice to meet everyone.
Once again Welcome

I'm confused about multiple law degrees though.  There's a JD, and then there's LLM (but no one but tax lawyers and other specialists get that) so are you talking law school or something like a legal studies major, or law and politics or some such?  Or do you just mean a degree in engineering, a degree in mathematics, and a JD?

I have a total of 6 degrees (and will be starting 7 & 8 soon enough). 3 degrees in engineering, 2 degrees in mathematics, 1 degree in Law (I have a JD). I had a very broad focus of specialization in my JD to incorporate all the areas of law listed above. I even added an extra year to my JD to study those areas.

Just imagine us as good people too!

I will believe in our person and the goodness of those as well. Though unsubstantiated with proof.

You poor bastard.  No wonder you're obsessed with avoiding hell.  (It couldn't be any hotter than Phoenix, could it?)

Did you know one of our most notorious and popular members shares your geographical misfortune.  I wonder if your political views are as strong and righteous as his?  (I wonder if that would gripe his ass or please him?)

While you're at it, in the words of Joh Lennon, imagine there's no heaven.  It isn't hard to do.  No hell below us.  Above us only sky.  Imagine all the people living life in peace ..

Most infamous member huh? I am reminded of a card sent to me by a girlfriend "Just remember, every bitch before me was a mistake and every bitch after me is a downgrade." Big Grin

100 degrees by Tuesday!! I work for a utility so for the first month or two I get to keep thinking "Bonus!! Bonus!" but eventually it gets to the point where I wish God would stop hugging the world so tightly (as her palin is spoofed as saying. I would say I cannot believe McCain picked that ding bat, but McCain is a moron as well so...stupid is as stupid does.)

I think imagine is a very interesting song. THought I do not think people really think about what he is saying. As the song progresses he continues to remove defining characteristics. By Reducto ad Absurdia his argument becomes imagine we are an amorphous blob devoid of any definition. Now that would be peaceful. Big Grin
